Grades/Transcripts/Credits • CREDITS = 5 credits/semester class • Semester= 30-40 Credits • Year = 60-80 credits • Progress Reports = 4 per semester (every 5 weeks) • Transcript (Academic History) = permanent grades at the end of each semester!! Includes class rank, GPA, credits • G.P.A.= grade point average A= 4 GPA points B= 3 GPA points C= 2 GPA points D= 1 GPA point F= 0 GPA points **Every Honors or AP course gets additional GPA point (C- or higher).
Grades/Transcripts/Credits • Number of credits students should have at the end of each year by grade level: 9th grade- 60+ credits 10th grade- 120+ credits 11th grade- 180+ credits 12th grade/graduation- at least 220 credits!

Our Student Expectations • We have HIGH expectations for ALL students!! • G.P.A.-3.0 and higher! (absolute minimum- 2.0) monitoring grades (Powerschool), attend tutoring if needed, quality work turned in, communicate with teachers • Behavior- on time to class everyday ready to learn!!No unexcused absences or tardies!!Be Respectful in ALL classes!! • Academic Integrity/Honesty- NO Cheating or Plagiarism!! *Potential Consequences for Not meeting Expectations: Campus Beautification/Community Service, Parent/Community Conferences, Saturday School, No-Go List, SART/SARB, SST, Academic/Behavior Contract.
Parent Tips for Success • Regularly check Powerschool account to monitor your student’s grades/attendance! • Make sure “Homework/Study time” is part of your student’s daily routine. When is it? • Organization- students need to stay organized!! Students should know what days homework and assignments are due, what days they have quizzes/tests, etc. (Use some type of planner) • If students are struggling in a class- they should individually speak with their teacher(s) if they need additional help, guidance, didn’t understand something, attend tutoring, speak to their counselor
Steps to Help Your Student in the Classroom • Step 1- check PowerSchool at least once per week (attend tutoring) • Step 2- communicate concerns to teacher directly, meet if needed. • Step 3- set up appointment with counselor

Attendance • Must submit note within 3 days of student return to school • ATTENDANCE affects academic success!! • Please make sure your student attends school and class everyday, on-time, everyday • Prepare students for College, Career, and Life!!!
