  4. Graduation RequirementsCollege Prep/Work Readiness Students must still earn 48 credits Must follow this plan to be eligible for Oklahoma’s Promise – Free College Tuition in Oklahoma. Must apply by 10th Grade Students will exceed the requirements for admission to Oklahoma Universities

  7. NCAA & Student Athletes • If you think you might be a college athlete, please go the NCAA Eligibility Center website for important information. www.eligibilitycenter.org • Please note: The NCAA does not accept Computer Tech courses. You should plan on taking a Foreign Language.

  8. EOI Requirements Current Oklahoma state law requires students to pass four EOI tests. • English 10 – Required • Algebra I – Required • Two additional tests from the following: English 11, U.S. History, Biology, Geometry, Algebra II

  12. Advanced Placement Courses To enroll in an AP course, you and your parent must: • Sign the enrolment card • List AP/Pre-AP courses on front of the card. (AP Contract)

  13. Advanced Placement Courses Required summer reading is at the discretion of the individual teacher. There is no longer a district approved summer reading assignment.

  14. Credit Recovery/Failed Classes If you have failed a required class, you will have to make the class up in night school or summer school. You will not be able to enroll in the course at BAHS to make up the credit.

Course Guide Students and parents can access the course guide by going to the BA website at • www.baschools.org • Click on the “Academics” link at the top of the page • Click on “Student Handbooks and Course Planning Guides” • Click on “2013 High School Course Planning Guide” • The guide will open as a PDF file.

  16. New for 2013 • German 1 – No longer offered. German 2-4 will be offered based on number of requests. • !nspire classes are now offered to 11th and 12th grade students. • !nspire classes are blended online classes. You are assigned a BAHS teacher, but most of your work will be online.

  18. Enrollment Card Return your card to your English teacher by February 28th Students will meet with a counselor to finalize enrollment. Will come with English class to Counseling Office. Must have a parent signature

  20. Enrollment Card Please pick six primary courses and two alternates. Because there are no schedule changes, you MUST select alternates courses.

Enrollment Card • You can not re-take courses you have already taken with the exception of Physical Education classes. • Guidelines regarding performance and activity course limits have been established: (a) Not more than six (6) units (12 credits) of performance credits (music, vocal, instrumental, or band) can be applied toward graduation. b) A maximum of four (4) units (8 credits) may be applied toward graduation from any of the following activity credits or combination of activities: Athletics Tiger Pride (Marching band) Cheerleading Physical Education Tigettes See page 5 of the BA Course Guide

  24. Tulsa Tech If you are applying to Tulsa Tech, you must still select six classes and alternates. You can write “Applying to Tulsa Tech” on the line below the courses you select.

Concurrent Enrollment • To enroll in courses at TCC, you must take the ACT. • Pick up application for concurrent enrollment in BAHS counseling office and order an official copy of your transcript. • Enroll at TCC. Bring proof of enrollment to BAHS. • You must return weekly grade checks. • Apply/Enroll Early! (About April 2012)

  26. Concurrent Enrollment Concurrent classes at NSU-BA. While we have not received final confirmation, there will most likely be a an inexpensive concurrent enrollment opportunity through TCC at NSU-BA. Courses will cost approximately $25. This will include the book. Please watch for future announcements.
