INSPIRE Scholarship INSPIRE Scholarship under Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) component of Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) scheme of the Department of Science & Technology. A striking feature of the programme is that it does not believe in conducting competitive exams for identification of talent at any level. It believes in and relies on the efficacy of the existing educational structure for identification of talent

(i) of Talent (SEATS) aims to attract talented youth to study science by providing INSPIRE Award of RsScheme for Early Attraction 5000 to one million young learners of the age group 10-15 years, ranging from Class VI to Class X standards, and also by arranging summer camps for about 50,000 science students of Class XI with global leaders in science to experience the joy of innovations on an annual basis through INSPIRE Internship • (ii) Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) aims to enhance rates of attachment of talented youth to undertake higher education in science intensive programmes, by providing scholarships and mentorship. Moreover this portal will act as a virtual science world which would motivate and inspire students to experiment and take science as an interesting career option.

  9. National Talent Search Examination NTSE  This National Level Competitive Examination to award scholarship . The scholarship under the present scheme awarded to the candidates for pursuing courses in science and social science up to doctoral level and in professional courses like medicine and engineering up to second-degree level Eligibility: All students studying in Class X in any type of recognized School SELECTION PROCEDURE: Identification of talent comprises two-stage selection process. While the individual State/UT conducts the first stage selection, the second stage selection at the national level is carried out by the NCERT. RATES OF SCHOLARSHIP The rates of scholarship at different stages are given as under: Stage 1. Higher Secondary level Rs. 1250/- p.m. 2. Graduate and Post Graduate Rs. 2000/- p.m. 3. Kishore VaigyanikProtsahanYojana (KVPY) The Kishore VaigyanikProtsahanYojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract exceptionally highly motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and research career in science The advertisement for the KVPY Fellowship appears in all the national dailies normally on the Technology Day (May 11) and the Second Sunday of July every year.

FELLOWSHIPS Summer program Participation and satisfactory performance in the summer programme/Project each year from the second year (B.Sc./B.S./B.Math./B.Stat /Integrated M.Sc./Integrated M.S.) onwards in an academic Institution of National or International repute ELIGIBILITY - Stream SA:Students enrolled in XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2018-19 and having secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board examination.   12. OLYMPIADS A major national Olympiad programme in basic sciences and mathematics which connects to the international Olympiads is in operation in India. The HomiBhabha Centre for Science Education is the nodal centre of the country for this programme. The programme aims at promoting excellence in science and mathematics among pre-university students.   13. Mathematics Olympiad The Mathematics Olympiad is conducted under the aegis of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM). One main purpose of this activity is to support mathematical talent among high school students in the country The Mathematics Olympiad Programme leading to participation in the International Mathematical Olympiad consists of the following stages: Stage 1: Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO)RMO. KVS Regional Mathematics is part of the satge –I Regional mathematics Olympiad Stage 2: Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO)INMO Stage 3: International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC)The INMO certificate awardees are invited to a month long training camp (junior batch) Stage 4: International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO)The team selected at the end of the camp.

Nurture Programme Every year the faculty of the IMO training camp selects about 20 students of class XII, from the senior batch who have shown a special interest in mathematics for participation in the Nurture Programme of NBHM. Any of these students formally pursuing mathematics at the undergraduate level (B.A./B. Sc or an integrated M.A./M.S. course) is entitled to a scholarship of Rs. 2500/- (Rs. Two Thousand Five Hundred only) per month from NBHM. Selected students may participate in the nurture programme even if they choose not to pursue a formal programme in mathematics at the undergraduate level. Special Class Railway Apprentices (SCRA) Exam • Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA) is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) on behalf of Indian Railways for four years of apprenticeship.
