Who are supposed to be here? • Development Quality Managers, PCP process improvement staff, project leaders • Who consider implementing reliability models • Based on their extensive measurement results
What is the objective? • Reliability methods and tools on system level have been subject of research for a long time. Various methods & tools have been developed. Applying them in practice, however, is not that straightforward. Many businesses tend to go to “overkill”. • The objective of this SIG is to discuss the gap between research and practice using positive and negative experiences and deriving success factors from there.
What output do we expect? • List of pitfalls & success factors on the application of reliability methods & tools on system level.
How are we going to do it? • First, an introduction into product reliability will be given, covering tools and modeling approaches on system level, as well as some examples from practice. • Then, to kick off the discussion, some experiences (positive and negative) will be shared. • Next, we will collect experiences with reliability approaches and during the discussion derive success factors from those experiences.
