MAIN, MERA SUTTA AUR WHO The life of an introvert has always been complicated. Cancelling plans, avoiding random conversations and maintaining a cold face are a few USPs that make an introvert, something I possess enough and more. Surprisingly though, I embraced my extroverted side as I began my love story, almost contrary to my personality! Smokers Forum This incident dates back to 2017 when going out for parties was a normal thing. Like every weekend, I was determined to cancel the plan last minute but then I ran out of excuses and my friends started getting smarter. For a change, this time around they decided to go to a house party, which I wasn’t really looking forward to. The only advantage of going there was free booze. How can someone say no to that? It was crowded and people behaved as if they’ve known each other for ages! As soon as my friends started swaying to the music, I moved to a corner with my drink and a packet of Classic Ice Burst. Standing near the balcony during winter and puffing on sutta hits you differently. While I was lost in my thoughts, in walked Rahul and asked if he could borrow my lighter. He tried breaking the ice in the most cliched and annoying way possible. The first thing he said was, “Hey, I am Rahul, naam toh suna hoga.” I rolled my eyes and did my best to ignore him. But he didn’t give up and came back with a better pick up line. That got me a little amused and we began to chat. It was music where we found common ground and his favourite songs matched my taste in music. We then started talking about our playlists and decided on our next date. Well, you must be thinking that was quick, but he was too cute to say no to. And also, to add, he was probably the only guy who asked me out for coffee to my favourite cafe. From coffee dates to dinner at home, things went along and we sailed through it. It’s almost been three years now and we’ve faced our share of ups and downs but then, we’ve managed so far and I hope we continue to do in the coming years. Come to think of it, a random conversation over a sutta has probably made me meet the love of my life!
