Questions to construct survey • All questions below are answered on a five point scale where 5 in Strongly Agree and 1 is Strongly Disagree. • I believe that online learning is easily accessed by all. • Online learning is something that I am interested in. • If I had a choice between an online learning course and a face to face course, I would pick the face to face course. • Online learning courses meet the needs of most student age groups. • Face-to-face courses are more effective for learning concepts than online learning courses.

The survey link was then placed on my FB page for responses. My group of over 400 friends are of various ages, gender, etc.

Conclusions • Those that were 40-60 had the highest positive responses to online learning scenarios across the board. • Those that were 40-60 had more neutral feelings about face to face courses being more effective than online courses. • Those older than 61 felt face to face courses were more effective than online courses. • When asked “Online learning is something I am interested in, there were no real trends for those in the over 60 age range, but the majority of those that answered marked it at a 3 or above.
Hypothesis analysis I don’t believe I can say for certain whether or not my hypothesis was true or false. An overwhelming majority of those in “middle age” (41-60) were very positive about online learning and those older (61 and older) were all over the map with their answers: some who were positive and some who were negative about this aspect of learning style. Only 2 respondents were under the age of 40 and I don’t believe that is enough of a sample from that age group to make a statement about their trends of thinking about this topic.
