Integrated Management Planning– the Ecosystem Approach Purpose: To provide a framework for value creation through sustainable use of marine natural resources within the limits of sound ecosystems.

Update The Integrated Management Plans to be updated on a regular basis. The first update of the Barents Sea – Lofoten plan carried out in 2011. A complete revision envisaged for 2020. Management plan for the Norwegian Sea presented in 2009 and for the North Sea – Skagerrak this year. => All Norwegian territorial waters covered. Integrated Ecosystem based management plans constitute the backbone of Norway’s Marine Management
