Mailers must contact a destination entry office to schedule a day and time of the arrival for their drop shipment. There are two methods for scheduling drop ship appointments:
Telephone requests are used when a facility is not active in the Facility Access and Shipment Tracking (FAST). This includes most post offices receiving DDU drop shipments. If the mailer makes a telephone appointment for a DNDC, DADC, or DSCF drop ship appointment, the mailer must call the facility and give a FAST Scheduler ID, so the postal employee can schedule an appointment in FAST.
Electronic requests are made through the Postal Service Business Customer Gateway. Registered mailers log into FAST and enter appointment request information. Most drop ship appointments are scheduled electronically.
