Vision 2020-2025: Enhancing ESCWA Statistics for Evidence-Based Policymaking

This round table discussion aims to identify the needs and challenges of official statistics in the period 2020-2025. It will explore interlinkages with the Cape Town Global Action Plan for SDG Data and the Arab Regional Action Plan for SDG Data, and provide ESCWA Secretariat with mandates for the next five years. The focus will be on managerial issues, demographic and social statistics, economic indicators, environment, development, data revolution, statistical capacity, technology, NSDS, institutional issues, quality frameworks, new data sources, and the challenges related to war and conflict.
