  3. Our school and your home address help make up our town of Franklin

  4. Franklin Township is one of many towns which make up make up Somerset County.

  5. Somerset County is one of 21 counties which make up the state of New Jersey.

  6. New Jersey is one of 50 states which make up the United States of America

  7. New Jersey is one of many states which make up the region known as the northeast.

  8. Regions are places which have many features in common.

  9. For us in the northeast, there are the four seasons

  10. The northeast is also home to the Appalachian Mountains

  11. In the northeast, the Atlantic Ocean borders most of the states.

  12. There are other regions in the United States. For instance there is the great northwest.

  13. The great northwest is known for its large mountains and oft time rainy weather.

  14. Another region in America is the Midwest, with its flat lands, corn, wheat and other grain fields

  16. Another region in America is the scenic southwest

  17. The Southwest is part of the South’s Sun Belt. It stretches from the southern Atlantic coast to the coast of California.” Population continues to grow in the Sun Belt due to its year round warm weather.

  20. There are other regions in America, but we’ll stop here.

  21. America is a country located on the continent of North America

  22. Canada is another country found on the continent of North America. It is to the north of the United States.

  23. Mexico is another country located on the continent of North America. It is to the south of the United States.

  24. North and South America make up half the world, a hemisphere. It is known as the Western Hemisphere.

  25. North America is also part of the Northern Hemisphere. This is true of any country north of the equator.
