Highlights - Inauguration • SAKSHAM at Pune University in Maharashtra commenced on 11th June 2012 with 28 participants from different departments and affiliated colleges • Inauguration was done by Prof. Sanjeev Sonawane, Department of Education, University of Pune • Ms. Shivani Sahai, Microsoft, attended the inauguration. She explained about SAKSHAM and its benefits. She also shared contribution of Microsoft in Higher Education

Take aways – Pune University • Participants found IT sessions very interesting. especially Microsoft Excel, Advance features of PowerPoint, LCDS and Office 365 • Participants found activities like planning technology integrated lessons, visioning exercises as well as questioning and listening role plays very interesting and took part in these very enthusiastically • The sessions on Windows Accessibility Features for Specially Abled People was much appreciated by all

Advanced Technology Blind Students’ Learning Centre • Other technologies being used: • Kurzweil text-to-speech technology • Scanning and reading technology • Brail printing technology • Jaws screen reader • Working on Microsoft AA (Active Accessibility) and MSUI (Microsoft User Interface) • The center has been conducting workshops in collaboration with Barrier Break Technologies
