How to read for pleasure? • Choose your own book, by previewing it • Read the front cover and back cover. Does it seem interesting? • How long is it? A short book is better to start with • Are there any pictures? Pictures help you understand • Check the level of difficulty of the book. Should be not too easy nor too difficult • The book should be interesting to you
Getting the most from pleasure reading • Read your book everyday. Keep a record of number of pages you read each day • Guess the meaning of unknown words or skip them. • After finishing the book, tell your teacher. She may talk about it or ask you to tell the class or write about it • Keep a record of books you have read
