The Employment and Career Structure (E.C.S.) was founded in response to an open invitation made by the operational program "Education & Lifelong learning" of the EU's National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) 2007-2013, for submission of suggestions in educational issues. • The Center coordinates the joint program design of the Career Office (C.O.), the Professional Practice Office (P.P.O.) and the Innovation's and Entrepreneur's Unit (I.E.I.), by adopting a policy of decision making and various actions of its employees which is recorded through it’s motto «we are here to serve, we are here to connect». • Goals of E.C.S. is the utilization of scale economies, the improvement of coordination and management of the joint efforts from the three cooperating offices. Another goal is the spreading and strengthening of networking with other Universities, the employment industry and other certified organizations that promote employment. Through E.C.S. students (undergraduates, postgraduates, and graduates) can participate in activities carried out by any of the individual acts and build relations with the labour market with the assistance of the structure. Simultaneously, the University is exposed to a competitive environment and gains the opportunity to build stable and sustainable partners corresponding to all levels of its internal educational structures. Through the whole endeavor the relationship between the students and the University is strengthened, rendering the students informed and in many cases eager for new initiatives from where they emerge. Students – Graduates Connects the services of CO, IEU and PPO creating a «One Stop Shop» regarding job searching and job perspectives Saves time and resources in order to access this information Attracts professionals to the University on Career Days and other organized vocational events from which students can benefit from Assists on the creation of «Spin off» enterprises through innovative business ideas which in turn will create new employment positions Connects the graduates in a well structured and constant way by informing them of employment positions even after their physical departure from the University The E.C.s for:

The University Globalizes the University by projecting and publishing the work of its members Creates a dynamic and mobile Institute, through which the actions of the E.C.S. materializes into activities for the benefit of the students (e.g. Career Day, Research & Development Day, common events with other Educational Institutes) Assists in proofing further initiatives, based on past evidence and analysis to use for future activities of the University

National level Reinforces the accessibility in handicapped services which is the humane aspect of «fair play» entrepreneurship and culture exchange Spreads technological know-how and business ideas from abroad to Greece and from region to region Shows its social sensitivity to the academic community by reinforcing actions of voluntarism and humanitarianism Assists in the convergence of University and Technological Institutes objectives in the field of research and technology

  9. The Career Office was created to serve the needs of the students and graduates of all its faculties. It essentially connects the University with the needs of the labour market. Its main objective is to inform anyone interested (students, graduates, employers etc) about educational issues and employment opportunities. Its core duties are to provide counseling, career planning, information and guidance to new competitive employees and entrepreneurs. Career Office

  10. The Career Office hosts a series of activities which hinge around the connection between education and the labour market. It specifically serves its users by means of: • Connections between members of the University’s community and the productive economy. • Gathering, filtering and transferring information for any issue that could assist the professional careers of students and graduates. • Cooperation with a large number of enterprises. The Office offers accessibility to the graduates to occupy professional positions. • Monitoring the labour market’s fluctuations and needs. • Supporting the Office for Professional Practice. The University’s ambition is to support its students and graduates who desireto obtain a business mentality, by supporting them in their efforts to create and develop successful business activities. The program of Innovation’s and Entrepreneur’s Unit is funded by the E.U. and by national funds. Its goal is to educate, guide and support individuals who desire to assume new innovative business initiatives. Some of the activities are: • A series of weekly courses which focuses on entrepreneurship • Support and guidance services for the creation of new businesses • Development of new methods for encouraging and informing prospective enterprises • Entrepreneurship Prize awarded to the group of students who prepare the best business plan in an annual contest INNOVATION'S AND ENTREPRENEUR'S UNIT

Enterprise risk is reduced providing the student the required assets for creating his/her own business • Knowledge and skill which are regarded as essential in the labour market • Students mix with business people and enterprise staff in order to obtain valuable experience • They get acquainted with investors and gain the opportunity to prove their value and convince that cooperation with them will benefit all. They create a competitive CV which is the first thing prospective partners and investors see • They get acquainted with other individuals who have similar ambitions • They enrich the annex to their degree with the entrepreneurial courses they have attended STUDENTS‘ BENEFITS
