  2. CAREWare • CAREWare - Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) system for collecting information on Ryan White funded services • All regional providers funded for care services must report into CAREWare • Data following are for care services provided from 1/1/2011 to 12/31/2011

  3. Limitations of CAREWare Data • Limited to services provided by regional AIDS Service Organization (ASOs) who receive RW regional funds – other providers may be providing services to Persons Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) which are not included in CAREWare • Some duplicated counts of clients are included if clients receive services from multiple agencies

  7. Who Received Services in 2011? • Total clients – 2732 • New clients in 2011 – 418 • Male – 1988 (72.8%) • Female – 725 (26.5%) • Transgender – 19 (0.7%) • Other/Unknown - 0

Summary • The presentation reviewed the demography of clients served in 2011 by RW Part B funded agencies - 2732, who were predominantly male, predominantly 45-64 years old and about one-half was White race. Blacks made up 44% of those in service. • Presentation gave data on 10 support services received by clients in 2011. • The majority of clients received medical transportation services. Bear in mind duplicate counts

Summary (continued) • After medical transportation services, food bank/home delivered meals, followed by treatment adherence counseling, psychosocial support, and housing services round up the five topmost services received by clients in 2011. • Trends from 2005 – 2011 show increase over time in the number of clients receiving food bank/home delivered meals services, medical transportation services, psychosocial support and treatment adherence counseling

  15. Summary (continued) • The no of clients receiving non-medical case management has stayed about the same over time from 2007-2011. • Non-medical case management was called client advocacy services prior to 2007.
