Exceptions • zzusis only has the ability track one set of graduation requirements (UCORE or GER) • Once a course has been evaluated, it is typcially done, use exceptions • Courses evaluated as one requirement that need to be an other will need to have exceptions made • Returning students under GER

  4. University Common Requirements • Transfer students are required to complete the University Common Requirements (UCORE) starting summer 2013. • All students entering Summer 2013 (continuing to fall) will fulfill UCORE requirements • Lower Division UCORE requirements are filled by a direct transfer agreement (DTA) and bachelor’s degrees (Rule 6g).

Students who have completed at least 70 transferable quarter credit hours toward completion of an approved AA degree may complete the Direct Transfer Associate (DTA) degree from a Washington or Oregon two-year college after their initial enrollment at WSU.

  6. 6 – G. Completion of lower-division University Common Requirements (UCOREs) will be granted to students who have completed all of the lower-division general education curriculum at another regionally accredited Washington baccalaureate institution, provided the sending institution so certifies.

  8. Transfer Credit Equivalencies • Legacy GER Transfer Equivalencies database is no longer being updated • GER students will continue to transfer credit – the legacy tables will continue to be available in their current location • Former students will return to the curriculum they started

Transfer Course Information Tables • Community College catalogs are being evaluated for UCORE equivalencies now. • Priority: • Institutions that offer WSU degrees (Everett and Olympic) • “Feeder Schools”- Based on the number of transfer students Courses evaluated individually, even if the school isn't done.

  12. Transfer Course Information Tables Intended to: • Show elective credits • Show non-transferable courses • Have longer date ranges • Show UCORE & Departmental evaluations • FYI – In-progress reviews

  13. Identifying UCORE Transfer Courses • ugr.wsu.edu – UCORE categories and course list • Start with courses that have already been identified as a UCORE equivalent.

  14. Student Groups • All Freshmen 2012 and on are in UCORE • All new students Summer to Fall 2013 and on are in UCORE

  15. Transfer Credit Reports (TCR) • Will contain UCORE courses from classes that have been evaluated • Accurate term information (when class was taken) • External Degrees

  17. Petitions • Petition a course to fulfill a UCORE (or GER?) . 

  18. Switching GER↔UCORE • Make request using UCORE or GER Request • Use the table provided to determine what is in the best interest of the student • An e-mail address (ucore.or.ger@wsu.edu) to which students/advisors could write and request a copy of an alternative advisement report/DARs for the curriculum they are not in (the alternate).

Transfer Registration Days (Pullman) • March 24th & 25th • No Transfer Credit Reports (TCRs) will be provided • Transfer Prerequisite Preapproval Form (Green Sheet) will be used again • WSU Course to be added • Student’s record must indicate that they have met the overridden prerequisite one week prior to the start of the semester
