  3. ATTENDANCE 2009-10 96% (even with the Swine Flu ) HIGHEST IN HOWARD COUNTY! For the 5th Year in a Row! Q1 2010-2011: 96.9% Attendance!

Academic Honor Roll and Eligibility • 2009-10: Over 93% of our students achieved 2.0 or above (Eligibility) • 2009-10: Over 65% of our students achieved 3.0 or above (Honor Roll) • 2009-10: 11% of our students achieved 4.0 status!! • First Quarter 2010-11: 75% achieved Honor Roll (186 earned 4.0) and 96.3% achieved over 2.0!

  5. HSA DATA REVIEW • Over 99% of our Senior class has met the HSA requirement!

  6. BIO HSA Pass rate 98.8% HIGHEST IN HOWARD COUNTY!

  7. AP Exam Scores Score of 3 or higher on 86% of exams ***Over 25 % of our students’ scores were 5’s … the highest possible!

  9. What is SIP? What is SIT? • The School Improvement Team (SIT), comprised of team leaders, teachers, and administrators, creates the School Improvement Plan (SIP). • The SIP provides detailed school data on HCPSS Goal 1 (academic achievement) and Goal 2 (safe and nurturing environment) as well as Marriotts Ridge’s strategies to improve on that data.

  11. 95% of all students and student groups pass all 4 High School Assessments (HSAs) by start of grade 12 80% of students in all race/ethnicity/FARMS groups take SAT or ACT 70% of students in all race/ethnicity/FARMS groups score at least 500 on each section of SAT or a composite score of 22 on the ACT Minimum of 40% of students in all race/ethnicity/FARMS groups be enrolled in at least one Honors, GT or AP class 100% of students taking ALT-MSA (special education version of HSA) score proficient or advanced Decrease the disproportionality of African-American students in Special Education What are HCPSS Goal 1 Data Points?

How are we doing: Goal 1? • Algebra 12th grade HSA pass rate: 99.3% • Biology 12th grade HSA pass rate: 97.7% • Government 12th grade HSA pass rate: 98.6% • English 12th grade HSA pass rate: 96.3% • ALT-MSA proficient rate: 100% • SAT participation: 84.7% • SAT performance (over 500) Math: 78%, Reading: 75.8%, Writing: 73.9% • ACT composite score 22 or better: 69.3% • Advanced course participation 2010-2011: AP: 32%, GT: 60%, Honors: 79%, disproportionate for African-Americans, FARMS students

What are HCPSS Goal 2 Data Points? • Goal 2: • Maximum of 1.25% drop out rate for all students and all student groups • Minimum of 94% attendance rate • 2% or less of all students in all student groups demonstrating unsafe behaviors as defined by MD State Dept of Education (MSDE) • 10% decrease in disproportionality of student groups suspended out of school

  15. How are we doing: Goal 2? • Attendance: 96% • Unsafe behaviors: 0% • Drop outs: .46% • Suspensions: 2.6% BUT, in Goal 1 and Goal 2, our student group data show achievement gaps for several student groups: Males, FARMS, Special Education, and African-Americans.

Student Referrals by Student Group Q1 • 8% of our student population received referrals • 11.3% of African-American students received referrals • 20% of FARMS students received referrals • 11.1% of Special Education students received referrals Student Suspension by Student Group • School Year 2009-2010 • 3% of the total student population received suspensions and 10% African-Americans received suspensions. • Quarter 1 2010-2011 • 1.1% of the total student population received suspensions • 2.4% of African-Americans received suspensions. • 4.6% of FARMS students received suspensions. • All suspended students (14) were male students.
