Recognising the tenets of the IB Learner Profile REVISED GOALS • To be true to our foundation by nurturing the development of Christian belief and values, and encouraging the spiritual growth of all members of the community • To create a strong, vibrant international community which is aware of its global context and the issues which affect it • To encourage in our students an appreciation of the need to understand, respect, serve and care for other • To encourage in our students the skills of leadership, teamwork and a personal commitment to service • To encourage our students to adopt a healthy lifestyle to promote their well-being and to enhance their cultural awareness
REVISED GOALS • To promote the intellectual development of our students together with the achievement of the best academic qualifications within each student’s capabilities • To promote a genuine and intrinsic love of learning, and encourage creative, critical and reflective learning, and assist students to communicate their ideas and beliefs in a balanced but clear manner • To encourage the development of personal standards such as self-discipline, initiative, self-reliance and an entrepreneurial spirit • To provide a physical environment of the highest quality possible to enhance the education on offer

STUDENTS – DEVELOPMENT Leadership - Details from VP (Pastoral) CCAs - New programme for 2012 with enhanced creative aspect Festivals - Participation in Singapore Youth Festival (Drama, Bronze Medal) Counselling - New counsellor appointed - New procedures in place PSHE - Integrated programme in place

STAFF DEVELOPMENT Collaboration - Time created on Monday afternoons Leadership - HsMs, HoFs, CCOs all trained in leadership and teamwork - Other staff trained to deliver student programmes IBWorkshops and meetings in place Induction - New induction programme in place and operating CPD - Integrated programme operating - New appraisal (PRM) trialled
THE YEAR AHEAD • CONTINUATION AND CONSOLIDATION and… • Extend leadership and character programmes • Regular staff collaboration time – academic and pastoral aspects – on Monday afternoons • Commission new Library and classrooms – Information centre and Teacher-Librarian concept • Redevelop canteen • New targets for IGCSE and IB examinations • Develop teaching and learning to incorproate styles needed in IGCSE, IB and the 21st Century • Improve information systems • Embed new CCA programme • Develop further the House system • Develop boarding programme

VISION OF THE HOUSE SYSTEM A FAMILY THAT SERVES THE COMMUNITY STRATEGY THROUGH A BUDDY SYSTEM AND ADOPTION OF CHARITIES
OBJECTIVES OF HOUSE • To develop a House system that reinforces the vision of ACS (International) of nurturing global citizens and leaders • To develop House spirit of collaboration and cooperation through the buddy system and house activities • To develop the giving of self to others through adoption of charities • To develop the IB Learner Profile through the House System
FINANCIAL AND AWARDS • To develop a system of rewards for Houses • Best Character • Best Academic • Best Charity • Best House Awards • Best Contribution Award – Leadership, Service, Interest Groups • To develop a funding system for the Houses • $1500 for each house each year
STUDENT OUTCOMES • Number of Students Satisfied with the House System and the House Master 89.3% feel proud to be involved in the House 88.2% have contributed to the House 90.7% are happy with their House Master’s leadership • Number of Students who feel that they have benefitted from House system 87.2% like the House they are in • Number of Students who feel closer to the school 84.6% feel they belong to the House and School 81.5% feel that they have more opportunities to participate in school life • Number of Students who develop the outcomes of the IB Learner Profile 80.4%

LEADERSHIP • 20 teachers accredited in Dr Tim Elmore’s Habitudes Leadership Programme • First school in Asia accredited in Worldsview’s 9 Conversations in Leadership and the Heart of Leadership • More than 200 student leadership positions with School Prefects, House Prefects, School Ambassadors, House Prefects, CCA Captains • 2011 Best Delegation Award at Hong Kong Gifted Leadership Conference • Leadership training for all leadership groups • National Youth Achievement Awards for all students
