Significant Safety Achievements- 1/14 • A quarterly Satellite Accumulation Area hazardous waste inspection was completed on 1/30/14. • Assisted with the NRTL inspection of the B31 Refrigerator Test Chamber. • The Personal Protective Equipment self-assessment has started. A survey has been developed and lab areas are being checked. • Chemical Management System inventory updates were made in 70-226 and 70-269. A new inventory was generated for 70-116. • A Safety Alert was issued regarding availability of Lock-Out/Tag-Out supplies. • Completed Aerial Lift training. • Participated in a JCAP safety focus group for MSD.
Short Term Safety Outlook- 1/14 • Assist with safety planning for the FLEXLAB start-up. • Complete follow-up on the B31 Refrigerator Test Chamber electrical corrective actions resulting from the recent NRTL report. • Complete the Personal Protective Equipment self-assessment project. • Complete pending EETD Activity Hazard Documents. • Continue CMS inventory updates in lab areas. • Participate in the upcoming gas cylinder disposal event. • Participate in the Electrical Safety Committee review and update of PUB-3000 Chapter 8. • Implement a new electronic lab inspection form for easier monthly lab area inspection documentation.
