Virginia Public Health & Healthcare Preparedness Funding Trend
Accomplishments • We have significantly enhanced our public health response capabilities over the last 10 years • Could not have been done without federal funding • In addition, we have had many event responses over the last six months including, • Derecho • Fungal meningitis • For the fourth year in a row, Virginia scored 100 out of 100 for its Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI) plan that involves receiving, distributing and dispensing medical assets from the CDC strategic national stockpile during a large-scale emergency.
Secure Commonwealth Panel • An HHR Subpanel update was provided at the October 10, 2012 meeting of the SCP • The grant funding and accomplishments were reviewed. • The sustainability recommendations from the April HHR Subpanel meeting were presented and well received.
