physical and chemical change Introduced to you by: Gabriel, Deborah, and Aubreigh
This is a page. :D Physical change, cut, rip, and tear, You have the same matter, But you may think it’s not all there…. Sorry, this is the physical part so we’ll tell you the rest later! :D cut shred (rip, and tear)
Physical changes • when you tear, cut, rip, or shred, you may not know it but you are making a physical change. • A physical change is a change that does not result in a new substance. • Changes of state are examples of physical change. • Just like in the poem, tearing, cutting, and ripping are physical change. • You know ice, water, and water vapor are all the same matter. • But did ya know, that water boiling into water vapor is another example of physical change. • Just like if a chainsaw cut wood into woodchips, it’s still the same matter.
Cutting and carving Cutting and carving are examples of physical change!
This is another page :D (continued on the poem) Chemical change, the colors can range, Just like the smell and temp. can change. Smell Temperature Changing Colors
Chemical change • Chemical change is a change in which a substance or two becomes a new substance or two. • Another term for chemical change is chemical reaction. You now know the word reacts means “goes through a chemical change.” • You know water mixing with iron forms rust, but did you know that it takes iron mixing with oxygen and water to form rust? This is an example of a chemical reaction. • A way to recognize a chemical change is gas bubbles forming, color change, temperature change, and smell change. • Another chemical change is sulfur reacting with oxygen to form sulfur dioxide. Reacts with oxygen often means that a substance burns.
= + Iron and water together make rust.
The difference is…… With a physical change you do not create a new substance. With a chemical change, another matter is formed. Chemical Change • Physical Change
The whole poem! Physical change, cut, rip, and tear, You have the same matter but you may think it’s not all there. Chemical change, the colors can range, Just like the smell and temp. can change.
