What is the purpose of an SEP Conference? Definition from Wasatch District Policy: The Student Education Plan (SEP) is a cooperative plan developed by the student, the parent, and the teacher in grades k-5. This plan is guided by state and local academic requirements, realistic assessment of student interests and goals, and future planning. The student is the focus of this conference which takes place three times a year. The SEP conference is an opportunity to celebrate the student’s success, look for positive aspects of educational progress, and plan student goals.
“The SEP/SEOP process provides opportunities for students to discover and celebrate the characteristics that make them unique. As educators, we can help students understand how to use this information to develop a unique and personalized plan for life/career success." Kristine Dobson, Utah Career Resource Network
