Our Program • Our program was in the red when I took over • No software…everything done by pencil • Lunch tickets • We finished that year in the black • I installed software the first year • My superintendent taught me how to work a budget • I watched every bill and every invoice • I was like a tiger if vendors charged me wrong!
A few things I’ve learned • This job is great for a busy mom! • Who wouldn’t want to be off with their children on every break & every summer? • Treat your staff the way you want to be treated. • Encourage rapport with teachers & administration. • Invest in your future! • Plan for retirement! It will come sooner than you think! Be prepared financially.
A few more things I’ve learned • Confrontation is inevitable. How you deal with it can make or break you. (always count to 10) • Try NEW Menu’s !!! Boring is not a good thing. • Treat your students occasionally. They will love you for it. • Treat your staff occasionally. I purchase 5 sets of scrubs & 1 pair shoes annually • Speak to your staff every time you see them. Call them by their name. They MATTER!
A La Carte Choices • Pizza • Quesadilla • Calzones • Chicken Nuggets • Corn Dog • Cheeseburger/Hamburger • Chicken Sandwich, Spicy, Grilled, Plain • Baked Chips, variety • Ice Cream • Drinks, variety
