It is the Chinese government’s policy to encourage foreign enterprises to participate in Clean Development Mechanism (“CDM”) projects, which allow developed countries to meet part of their own emission reduction targets by investing in China. By July 2011, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) had cumulatively approved 3,154 CDM projects across the nation, focusing on new energy, renewable energy, energy conservation, enhancement of energy efficiency, methane recycling and reutilization as well as a variety of other areas
European Commission • Chamber style • five-pronged attack Eco-innovation is about reducing our environmental impact and making better use of resources. This means developing products, techniques, services and processes that reduce CO2 emissions, use resources efficiently, promote recycling and so on. There are five main strands to this initiative: • Materials recycling and recycling processes; • Sustainable building products; • Food and drink sector; • Water efficiency, treatment and distribution; • Greening business.

To be discussed- Our outstanding point? • What makes us special? • Compared with HKAEE – they are more business driven and covering CSR, energy efficiency • Compared with HKGCC – they are more biz related • If it is pure technology – How to attract industrial players? • What kind of guest speakers to target? • How to attract attendance? • How to attract attention from Gov/Business/NGOs? • What do we want to get from it?
