Stephen F. Austin’s father was given land and was bringing settlers to Texas. His father died before he could bring the people to Texas so Stephen F. Austin brought the people to Texas instead.
Stephen F. Austin brought many settlers to Texas. Each person was given land so they could build a house in which to live.
One of the reasons Stephen F. Austin is called the “Father of Texas” is because he helped people come to Texas to settle and make it their home.
The city of Austin, the capital of Texas was named in honor of Stephen F. Austin.
