5K Event • PNAAF is cosponsoring the 5K Event to be held on 7/18/09 at the PNAA National convention in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a fundraising event for PNAAF & PNAA. • The success of the event is largely dependent on the active participation of each chapter. • Sponsor solicitation letters have been sent out to the Chapter Presidents.
5K Event • The 5K Walk/Run is our overall effort to raise funds for the multiple initiatives of PNAAF/PNAA. • This includes PNAAF’s Leadership Development Program and PNAA’s Scholarship, Adopt A School/ Educational Exchange Program (Balik Turo) and Community Outreach
5K Event Recommended Western Region Goal Goal: To raise at least $8,000.00 in donations as follows: • Each chapter will solicit at least 3 T-shirt donations - $900.00/chapter ($300.00 will go back to the Chapter). • Net - $600.00/Chapter • 8 Chapters = $4800.00 • The region will register 30 people to participate in the event @ $25.00 per person. • Net – 750.00 • Each chapter will have 5 Walkers/Runners who will solicit donations of $150.00 per person. • Net - $750.00 • The region will solicit major/minor sponsors • Minimum - $2000.00
Educational Grants • PNAAF Board of Trustees has approved educational grants for the leadership training programs offered at the regional conferences. The leadership training program is planned and implemented by the education committees of PNAA, PNAAF and the PNA Host chapter(s). The theme of the 2008-2009 leadership training program is Mentoring and Succession Planning.
Fellowship Award • PNAAF is accepting applications for the 2009 PNAAF Fellow Award to be presented at the 30th PNAA Annual National Convention • One Fellow will be chosen to receive $1,000 to conduct survey, research, or a review of literatures that will enhance knowledge and awareness of PNAA members regarding excellence in clinical nursing practice related to health promotion and disease prevention in a culturally diversified population. • An application form is available on the PNAAF website www.pnaafoundation.org.
Cabotaje Award • PNAAF is accepting applications for the 2009 PNAAF Patricia Cabotaje Memorial Award for Excellence in Community Health/Public Health to be presented at the 30th PNAA Annual National Convention of the Philippine Nurses Association of America on July 16-19, 2009, Baltimore, Maryland. One Awardee will be chosen to receive $500.
Leadership Training Program • The Foundation relies on donations and grants to fund the leadership training program. We are reaching out to Friends of Philippine American Nurses to support the program. If you know individuals, corporations or agencies that would be supportive of this cause, please send an e-mail to aracelidantonio@aol.com.
Founding Member Initiative • Open enrollment” to recruit FOUNDING MEMBERS - March 2007 to December 2010. • FOUNDING MEMBERS (FMs) donate or pledge • $1000.00 to be a Gold Founding Member and • $2500.00 to be a Platinum Founding Member.
Founding Members • A list of the Founding members and those who have made pledges to become members is found on the website of PNAAF. • The Board of Trustees encourages PNAA Members to be part of this historical event by becoming a Founding Member. • The monies raised through the Founding Member Initiative is set aside for a PNAA/PNAAF office building.
