Understanding the role of trade unions • Read through the text and insert the correct words into the gaps. • If you have finished then read through the information about contracts of employment.
Key Words • Trade Unions: Organizations that look after the interests of a group of employees. • Contract of Employment: A document which details an employees and employers responsibilities for a particular job • Dismissal: When employers end an employees contract of employment • Employment Tribunal: A type of court dealing only with disagreements over employment laws • Redundancy: When a person loses their job because the job doesn't need to be done anymore.
