Fort Mifflin, was commissioned in 1771 and sits on the Delaware River below Philadelphia, Pennsylvania This is the soldiers barracks where scouts can sleep.
During the American Revolutionary War, the British Army bombarded and captured the fort as part of their conquest of Philadelphia in autumn 1777. • The United States Army began to rebuild the fort in 1794 and continued to garrison and build on the site through the 19th century.
This is where most Curious scouts will want to sleep. • The real draw is many say it is haunted!!! • The army also built the six cavelikedefensive structures in the case of an enemy siege.
The Website is: fortmifflin.us/scout-program • Cost was $25 per scout (add $6 for breakfast) • Cannon demonstrations were extra but well worth it. • Combine the trip with a tour of declaration hall and the liberty bell.
