  3. TUITION WAIVER- eligibility Faculty 90 days 6 credits maximum per semester PEC 6 Months 8 credits maximum per semester • PENC & SNE • 6 Months • 8 credits maximum per semester • Semesters: • Fall • Spring • Summer A&B (combined)

  4. DEPENDENT WAIVER- eligibility • Faculty : 90 days • PEC, PENC & SNE: 6 months Unlimited amount of credits

  5. TUITION WAIVER -procedures Obtain tuition waiver forms from the Human Resources online forms link • Employee: • Fill out form • Requires supervisor signature • Dependent: • Employee signature • Dependent information Submit your completed forms to your Financial Aid office at your campus location

  7. REIMBURSEMENT - eligibility • Faculty: • 90 days • Graduate Courses • PENC & SNE: • 2 years • Undergraduate & • Graduate Courses • PEC: • 2 years • Graduate Courses

  8. REIMBURSEMENT-eligibility • All courses taken must be completed at a Regionally accredited college/university • Classes offered at MDC are not eligible for reimbursement.

  9. REIMBURSEMENT - eligibility Faculty : • Maximum eight (8) credits per Semester • (Fall, Spring, Summer A & B) • $227.10 / per credit • Reimbursed at FL state rate (FIU or FAU)

  11. REIMBURSEMENT - procedures Before start of class: • Complete Tuition Reimbursement form including supervisor’s signature. REIMBURSEMENT - procedures After completion of class: • Send copy of official transcript Send to : HR/ Benefits Attn: Tuition Reimbursement Kendall Campus • Upon receipt of the required documentsthe check for this non-taxable benefit will be processed within 30 business days and mailed to your home address (make sure your address is updated)

  14. FIU Tuition Scholarship Program Available for Faculty & Professional Exempt Contractual Eligibility: • Pursuing Ph. D and Ed. D degrees at FIU • Degree must be in a field related to the individual’s professional development • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above The program provides a tuition reduction from $170.63 to $100 per credit. The amount reimbursed by HR is reduced due to Doctoral Program. Program began Summer 2004. For more details contact Norma Goonen for Faculty Initiatives at extension 7-3803

  15. Steps after Degree completion • request original transcripts in sealed envelope • have supervisor complete RPA for education incentive • attach sealed envelope with RPA • send information to: Send to : HR/ Compensation Attn: Degree Completion Kendall Campus
