Annex EThe State of Florida Emergency Management Annex for an All-hazards Radiological Emergency • Objectives: -To develop an all-hazards radiological emergency management document that establishes the planning and operational concepts for responses to these emergencies. -To be a companion to Annex A which is the Florida Comprehensive Emergency Management annex addressing nuclear power plant and space launched vehicle accidents. -To provide a template for a Hospital Radiological Emergency Response Plan.

Annex EThe State of Florida Emergency Management Annex for an All-hazards Radiological Emergency • Relationship to Other Plans: -Companion to ANNEX A THE STATE OF FLORIDA RADIOLOGICAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN -Each agency will need to modify/develop their own operational plans regarding all-hazards radiological emergency responses.

Annex EThe State of Florida Emergency Management Annex for an All-hazards Radiological Emergency • Status of the Annex: -Presented to and approved by State Working Group Operations and Plans Committee on March 29, 2007. -Presented to and approved by State Working Group on Domestic Preparedness Executive Board on March 30, 2007. -To be presented to State Domestic Security Oversight Committee for consideration for approval on April 18, 2007.

  5. Education/Training (1) • BRC responsible for responding to any radiological incident/event • BRC available for providing radiological training to CHD’s and first responders

  6. Education/Training (2) • BRC has available 2 hr, 4 hr, and 2 day all-hazards radiological training • eXtreme eXposure Training -Lecture—2 ½ hours (All-hazards) -FSU-provided table-top—4 hours -Available in each RDSTF region

  7. FEMA Independent Study ProgramIS-3 Radiological Emergency Managementhttp://www.training.fema.gov/EMIWeb/IS/is3.asp • This independent study course contains information on a variety of radiological topics, including: • Fundamental principles of radiation • Nuclear threat and protective measures • Nuclear power plants • Radiological transportation accidents • Other radiological hazards
