Pilots • Airline and commercial pilots navigate and fly helicopters and airplanes • Airline pilots fly airplanes that transport people and cargo on a schedule • Commercial pilots fly aircrafts for other reasons such as rescue operations, etc.
Pilots cont. • They spend a considerable amount of time away from home because their schedules usually involve overnight layovers • Annual wage for airline pilots: $103,210 • Annual wage for commercial pilots: $67,500 • To become a pilot you need to have a bachelor’s degree from a civilian flight school
Flight Attendants • Flight attendants are also known as stewards, stewardesses, or air hosts • A flight attendant’s main responsibility is the safety of the passengers • Flight attendants go through training for about 42 days (6 weeks)
Flight Attendants cont. • The wage depends on what airline they are working on • The bigger the airline, the bigger the pay • Many flight attendants get hired even without the training
Aerospace Engineering • Aerospace engineers are responsible for creating exceptional machines • Technologies that are developed by the engineers are used in aviation, defense, and space exploration • They are responsible for creating airplanes and aircrafts that weigh more than half a million tons • They are also rocket scientists
Aerospace Engineering cont. • They check, analyze, design, produce, and sometimes install parts that make up the airplane • Starting wage: $55,000 • Annual wage: $90,000 • To become an aerospace engineer, you would need to have a bachelor’s degree • You would also need a degree in natural science or mathematics
