The “bloodless revolution” • The Stuart king was removed from the thrones of England, Scotland, and Ireland. • Replaced by William and Mary of the house of orange. • The English revolution of 1688 it was known as the “bloodless revolution”

What happened? • The Glorious Revolution was when the aristocracy and parliament came out on top. In 1688 a lot of the political people didn’t like the new king, James II, for some of his ambitions and his Catholicism. A powerful group of English aristocrats, called the Whigs, promised James's Protestant daughter Mary and her husband William of Orange, their allegiance if they would invade Britain and depose James.
The End • James II left without putting up a fight and William and Mary became joint monarchs.
