  2. Aim of this Workshop The aim of the workshop is to facilitate exchange around concrete ICT initiatives presented by young people from around the world. These will be the basis for discussion and exchange to identify ingredients needed for best practices and project creation around ICT4D.

ICVolunteers • International Federation • Started 10 years ago • Working in the field of communications: • Cybervolunteering • Languages • Support and organization of conferences and seminars • Linking knowledge with needs • A network of 10,000 volunteers from over 179 countries, speaking 155 languages

CyberVolunteers Programme • Cybervolunteering: use of information and communication technology for volunteer effort both locally and virtually (online volunteering) • The CyberVolunteers Programme connects grassroots projects with highly skilled volunteers in ICT (information and communication technologies) • The Programme values in particular South-South exchanges, but also includes South-North and North-South cooperation.

E-TIC.NET: objectives • Develop ICT training for better farm management • Raise awareness to better grazing management and health issues • Promote adoption of practices aimed at developing sustainable farming through better accountability of farmers including an awareness of farming environmentally and biodiversity

  16. E-TIC.NET: objectives • Promote the use and marketing of products and by-products of livestock • Conduct an inventory and establish a system to trace animals and pastures Interface "Green Network" • Strengthening food safety

E-TIC.NET and Societal Lighthouse The Societal Lighthouse is: • a multi-partnership incubator of ideas • a working group and mechanism of proposals to improve the lives of people and societies around the world • The Societal Lighthouse aims t collect information taking into account the suggestions and concerns from citizens, around online services provided by government and other entities.
