  2. Introduction: Classic Reasons • A. Who should thank God? • Psalms 140: 13; • Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

Because we have Victory in Christ! • 5. Because people believe the Word of God! • 1 Thessalonians 2: 13; • For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

  14. Odd Seasons: • A. Among the heathen. • Psalms 18: 49; • Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.

  15. Odd Seasons: • B. When you can’t sleep. • Psalms 119: 62; • At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.

  16. Odd Seasons: • C. When you have a need. • Philippians 4: 6; • Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

  17. Odd Seasons: • D. When you suffer for your faith. • 1 Peter 2: 19; • For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
