Keys to Academic Success • Be in school every day • Time Management – set regular time and location for homework, morning/after school routines, break up the big projects – don’t wait until the last minute • Set goals • Parents – keep your kids close to you – look for the signs of overload (tears, silence, avoidance, unexpected outbursts) • Organization – planner, materials, study habits • Homeroom Teacher- 3 years with the same adult – Conduit for parents
Report Bullying • Reporting is essential • Bullying has no place in our school • Social media and Bullying: Texting, Facebook, Twitter, email, Instant Messaging, Kick, Instagram, etc. • Most students DON’T support bullying • If someone is being bullied, don’t join in. We support the bystander who speaks up for others • We follow District Policy and State Law
