Problem, Challenge, or Opportunity Statement • Industrial Products Inc. discovered the contaminated lagoon. • Employees are fearful of the risk to pollution • The community fears hazardous waste • The government has no relationship with the company and has no reason to trust the company to handle the cleanup properly • This is a good challenge for Industrial Products Inc. to build new relationships with its publics
Situation Analysis • PCBs contaminated the lagoon in 1960’s • Industrial Products Inc is not at fault, but taking responsibility • Employees, community and government need to be informed • Expansion needs to proceed smoothly • Lagoon cleanup without incident is preferable
