  3. DUI (DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE) “Drunk driving” is the act of driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) to the degree that mental and motor skills are “impaired”. It is illegal in all jurisdictions within the US, though enforcement varies widely between and within states/territories. 

  4. DUI ENHANCEMENTS • Enhancements are factors that can make a somewhat routine DUI into a more serious DUI. Enhancements can cause the D.A. to request jail time, longer alcohol classes, and more Caltrans or Community Service work. • Some of the factors affecting your DUI case are as follows: • If you were involved in an accident • If your alcohol content level was too high • If you were driving too fast or recklessly • If you had minors in the car while driving under the influence • If this is your second or third DUI
