Custodial Services Mission Statement – Custodial Services strives to provide professional, technical, and non-technical support and services to students, staff, faculty and visitors to create and maintain a comfortable, safe, and functional campus environment. We manage the university’s physical assets through efficient utilization of available resources to ensure that the university can fulfill its mission of becoming the best land grant institution through learning, scholarship, and engagement.
Vision Statement – To provide and maintain a beautiful, clean, safe, and healthy building environment that is maintained at required standards for the use and enjoyment of the students, staff, and public in support of the university’s missions of becoming the best land grant institution through learning, scholarship, and engagement.

15. Custodial Services Custodial Services is divided into 16 Self Directed Work Teams
Each teams is responsible for planning daily work coverage, scheduling projects and completing daily routines.
Each team have 5 Starpoints that provide essential responsibilities in the team functioning properly.

17. Custodial Services Administrative Starpoint
Receives calls to the team the beginning of the day and delegates information were needed.
Informs team of absences
Carries pager as a contact person
Checks for Email and delivers to team huddle
Relays information of vacation requests issues and concerns to Facilitator
Leads huddles and team meetings
Bring administrative issues to the Starpoint council for action.
Interacts with manager of custodial services through the Starpoint council.
Passes items outside the ability of the team to resolve to the manager of custodial services.
18. Custodial Services
Supply & Equipment Starpoint
Supply
Receives the need for custodial supplies for each facility
Receives information on new goods and test opportunities from the Starpoint council
Equipment
Maintains a listing inventory of all equipment in the team.
Meets with the Starpoint council to receive information on new equipment.
19. Custodial Services Safety & Training Starpoint
Safety
Inspects the equipment used in the team area for proper safety.
Reviews the MSDS book monthly and obtains any needed MSDS’s from the stores.
Training
Receives the safety training material and review the training program with the team.
Trains new employees to the team
Ensure proper training is completed
Communicates training needs to the facilitator
20. Custodial Services Scheduling Starpoint
Starpoint Leader and the team plan the custodial project activity for the month
Starpoint Leader transmits awareness of construction project activity within the team area to the team.
The Starpoint leader and the team receive the need for a departmental special event.
Starpoint Leader and the team receive the need for a work order, either a repair or a special work order for custodial project or customer services.
21. Custodial Services Customer Service Starpoint
Makes a brief weekly contact with the customer service coordinators
Carries a pager for quick customer contact
Maintains a listing of and review the cleaning standards and schedules in place within the department.
Receives the immediate customer’s problems from the team’s customers
