The Third Pillar • - The Sustainability of Agricultural Statistics (through Governance and Statistical Capacity Building) • Global Strategy to Improve Agricultural • and Rural Statistics • The First Pillar • - Identifying a Minimum set of Core Data (Including Economic, social and environmental variables and National Priorities) on a sustainable basis allowing comparability over time and between countries • The Second Pillar • - Integration of Agriculture into the National Statistical System (develop a Master Sample Frame for Agriculture, Integrated survey and integrate database- storage, access, dissemination) Action Plan • Country • assessment • Technical assistance • Training Program • Methodological research Governance & Resource mobilization

Identify and provide Minimum set of Core Data on a regular basis • Items should respond to national and international needs • Item that contribute to the country s food and household income; • Items that together, contribute to 75pct of the value of the country production; • Items that account for a significant portion of the land use. • Items covering crops, livestock, fishery and aquaculture and forestry • Items covering economic, environmental an social indicators dimensions • Ensure data quality dimension (accuracy, relevance, timeliness, comparability, availability and accessibility)

Recognize That • The Strategy is a long term effort; • The Strategy suggests that each country establishes a national statistical • council to coordinate the integration of agriculture • The steps to implement the strategic plan will depend upon the statistical • capacity of each country • Global strategy Action Plan only defines the steps to be taken and the overall • responsibilities (Global, Regional a and National) • Not every Region will develop a detailed implementation plan similar to Africa’s, but rather a regional activity program based on Global Action Plan • Implantation of the action plan should also be a county driven process
