  1. Manna (What? Ex. 16:15) • Deut 8:3And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. • Ex 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. • Spiritual and Physical Provision

  2. When We Have Too Much • Tend toward faith in storehouse: 1 Tim. 6:17-19 • Took more manna than needed: Ex. 16:16-20 • Is it from a selfish attitude? (hoarding) • Or is it from insecurity? • Manna had limited time: Ex. 16:21 • We need to look to retirement in our culture • Wealth does not give security: Matt. 6:19-21

  3. When We Have Too Little • We worry about our physical survival only (man does not live by bread alone: Deut. 8:3) • Matt. 6:25-34 • Food for survival (25-27) storehouses • Clothing for protection (28-31) • Tomorrow’s needs (32-34) • “I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, most of which never happened.” M. Twain • Physical replaces Spiritual: Jn. 6:26-35

  4. When We Have Just Enough • We tend to go to God for our NOW NEEDS • Matt. 6:11 ask this day for daily bread • Weekly paycheck, monthly bills, annual tax filing • “Well, I don’t need God today.” (manna) • We already have_____, so we seek _____. • Jms. 4:13-16 (have life, so seek profit) • How important is oxygen, sleep, water? (Don’t you need God to supply them?)

  5. Physical Needs Seek more than we need (hoarding or insecure) Take for granted (always there) Ex. 16:35 (40 yrs) Josh. 5:2 (ended) Loathed (bored) Num. 11:4-6, 21:5 Spiritual Value Miracle from God with a requirement of man (Ex. 16:4) Sabbath Separation and Preparation (Ex. 16:22-30) Memorial (Ex. 16:32-34) Manna

  6. Spiritual and Physical Provisions • Giving physical contribution is worship • Taking the physical elements discerning the Lord’s death • Worship in Spirit and in Truth • Pray (spiritual) for Daily Needs (physical) • Having too much, too little, or just enough can be in our mind more than in our pocket
