NC Community College History 58 Community Colleges in the System System began in early 1960’s Basic Skills/Adult Education is housed in CC system Funding is 25% state funding and 75% state 55% of all students are in Adult Basic Education 18% of all students are in Adult Secondary 27% are in English as a Second Language The Community College System is the leading provider of workforce and occupational skills training in NC
