Lesson 11 - Lesson objective Success criteria Build – discuss what you understand about the differences between all three sectors Apply – working in groups, each group will be given a research task to carry out and present to the rest of the class Secure - AfL the quality of your research and depth of understanding during the presentation Care Service Base - To understand the differences between statutory, private and third sector provision of services for health and early years provision

  2. Questions • Do you know of any private early educational provision locally? • Do you or have you used a health provision in the private sector? • Have you used a health care provision in the statutory sector (NHS)?

  3. Questions and Task 1 • Group 1&2 you are asked to research NHS Trusts for the Knottingley and local area • Group 3&4 you are asked to research private companies and self –employed practitioners (Your local GP will be one) • Groups 5& 6 you are asked to research local support groups, charities and volunteers not-for-profit organisations with paid employees. • Groups 6-7 you are asked to research local child care provision that is private and supported by government policy and funding

  4. What next? • To use the Internet, your own past and present knowledge, I would like you to find out the following: • What provisions are found locally? • Who pays for these? • What provision do they provide • Which groups of people are they targeting and helping? • Finally, place your organisation in the right category: • Health Care • Social Care • Children's and Young people services

  5. AfL • Again mark who did what during your investigation. • Remember all grades will be given according to the amount of work each person has carried out. • During your timed controlled assessment this will be very important later in the unit.
