Sistemul de supraveghere video (sau CCTV - closed circuit television ) este un sistem de televiziune care opereaza in bucla inchisa. Comparativ cu televiziunea publica care este disponibila oricarei persoane care are un receptor TV, imaginile obtinute de sistemul de supraveghere video sunt disponibile numai utilizatorilor ce au drepturi de acces la bucla inchisa . Practic cel mai simplu sistem de supraveghere video este format dintr-o camera conectata la un monitor. Sistemele de supraveghere video mai complexe includ un numar mare de camere dispozitive de control, dispozitive de inregistrare si vizualizare mult mai avansate.
