Corey Miller, the rapper known as C-Murder when he shot and killed a teen-ager in a Harvey nightclub, was found liable for the youth’s death Tuesday. The ruling came in a lawsuit filed against Miller by the parents of the late Steve Thomas, 16, of Avondale. Miller, 42, of New Orleans, is serving a life sentence in prison for second-degree murder in the Jan. 12, 2002, killing at the now-closed Platinum Club in Harvey. Delores and George Thomas filed the wrongful death lawsuit in March 2002, about a week after Miller was indicted by a Jefferson Parish grand jury. They sued Miller, the Platinum Club and its owner, Travis Mumphrey, and Miller’s record label and apparel businesses. The couple seeks unspecified damages. A trial date, to determine whether and how much Miller must pay Thomas’ parents, has not been set. On Tuesday, however, Judge Glenn Ansardi of the 24th Judicial District Court found that Miller bears civil liability. The ruling was expected because Miller’s attorney Roy Maughan Jr. of Baton Rouge, did not challenge liability. Because Miller was convicted in the criminal case, a civil jury would likely reach the same conclusion in deciding civil liability, said Maughan, who did not attend Tuesday’s hearing. Rapper Tim Dog, who reportedly died Valentine’s Day of this year, has released a new song. And according to the song’s lyrics, he comes clean that his death was a sham, according a report from WREG’s Sabrina Hall. Tim Dog, or Timothy Blair, allegedly owes millions of dollars to people around the world and right here in the Mid-South. The song, appropriately titled “falsified,” features Tim Dog and colleague Kool Keith rapping about how the star faked his own death. Except the lyrics seem to blame others for the apparent sham. “Thank the Lord you`re alive. They falsified. People selling your music. They falsified… I am like Kanye West, I am the best,” according to the lyrics. “Tim Dog is alive. A cornball made the rumor. The press said he died.” Steven Jubera, the Desoto County prosecutor trying to bring Blair to justice, said he was not surprised by the news. Tim Dog Not Dead

Forget digital music files or streaming services: Vinyl is back. Well, it’s re-emerging at least for fans of Universal Music’s catalog of albums. UVinyl — Universal Music’s vinyl branch — is developing a “crowd-funded vinyl service” that will release limited-edition records of old “deleted” albums if there’s enough demand. “The Vinyl Project” will re-press deleted and rare records into vinyl, and release them with digital downloads and personalized art prints. This service is reportedly going to work with Kickstarter-style crowdfunding. Complete Music Update reports that among the records being considered for release already include The Jackson 5‘s “ABC,” Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and Sonic Youth‘s “Goo.” Ah, vinyls: Their sweet, classic sound can grace our living rooms once again. But we wonder: Will we be doing this with CDs and cassette tapes decades from now? Let us know what you think about this vinyl initiative in the comments. Which records would you like to see revived? As a part of a greater effort to use social media to connect with Catholics worldwide, the Pope will start relieving punishment for your sins via social media. According to the Vatican‘s Sacred Apostolic Penitentiary publication, Pope Francis will be giving “plenary indulgences” — which is a special act that is said to reduce time in purgatory — to his Twitter followers. The Pope typically offers indulgences to those who see him in person, but for the first time this year, it will extend to virtual visits, too. The decision was made as the Pope gears up to visit the World Youth Festival in Brazil next week. The Guardian is reporting Catholics will be able to follow the “rites and pious exercises” that the Pope will do in Brazil online. For social followers who have previously confessed their sins, have been absolved by a priest and have attended mass, they can follow along live through the social networking site and receive that special forgiveness. Users must follow the events live to participate. Pope Francis To Offer Plenary Indulgences Via Twitter

Zimmerman’s Heart Was In Right Place: In an exclusive interview on AC360, Zimmerman trial Juror B37 told Anderson she thought George Zimmerman had every right to carry a gun. She told Anderson she thinks Zimmerman is guilty of not using good judgement. The juror said she thought George Zimmerman should not have gotten out of his car after calling 911. She said the operator should have advised George to stay in his car instead of asking him questions about Martin’s whereabouts. Juror Said Zimmerman’s Heart Was In Right Place
