Revelation 1:4-10 • To the seven churches, which represent the forming of the Church that God intended • Who are the seven? The attributes of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 11:2) • A reminder of our place in Him (vs 5&6)
Note the tense • To Him who loved us and washed us form our sins in His own blood • And has made us kings and priests* to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen!
And what are we? • He has made us kings • Authority delegated by the King of kings to administrate the powers of His rule • Confrontation of those things which stand in opposition of the King or His realm • And priests • The rule is only affective when we faithfully attend to the duties of priest • Power and authority are exercised through prayer and worship
As His soldiers, how do we fight? • 2 Cor 10:3-6 • The nature of strongholds: • Behind every stronghold is a lie • Behind every lie there is a fear • Behind every fear there is an idol • Idols exist when we don’t trust God for our provision
The weapons of this warfare • God’s Word (Hebrews 4:12-13) • The blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony (Rev 12:11) • The name of Jesus (Mark 16:17)
