Assist communities with development of local tsunami mitigation portion of FEMA required Local Hazard Mitigation Plans, designing evacuation route brochures, and purchasing tsunami signs. Distribute public outreach materials in partnership with University of Alaska Fairbanks/Geophysical Institute (UAF/GI), WC/ATWC, National Weather Service (NWS) Continue development of educational material to convey tsunami issues to businesses, schools, government agencies and residents.   12. March 25-31, 2007 - “Tsunami Awareness Week” NOAA Weather Radios distributed to the communities of Ketchikan, Seward, Sitka, Cold Bay and Sand Point. The radios are placed in critical facilities such as schools, fire departments, hospitals, etc. The DVD “Ocean Fury” distributed to schools. Included in this distribution were copies to the Alaska Tsunami Education Program (AETP). ATEP is a federally funded program directed towards tsunami education for students K-12. Heidi and the Tsunami booklets distributed to Alaska schools Copies of “Are You Ready for the Next Big Quake in Alaska” were distributed to schools and agencies throughout the state PSA’s broadcast during “Tsunami Preparedness Week” Provided TsunamiReady information to the Southwest Alaska Municipal Conference (SWAMC).
