COUNTRY’S PRIORITIES • Biodiversity • Protected area management and its financial sustainability. • Gap analysis in existing protected area network • Provision of sustainable integrated management in water basins and ecosystems with priority.
Biodiversity (cont’d) • Establishment of institutional structure for monitoring and evaluating current status, threats and protection measures for Biodiversity • Integration of biodiversity into forest management plan and protection of degraded forests
COUNTRY’S PROIRITIES • Climate Change • Energy efficiency • New and renewable energy • Forestation
OBJECTIVES • To support projects that help to fulfill Turkey’s commitments under international conventions • To organize seminars and meetings aiming to enhance awareness about GEF at the central and local levels • To form the country’s priorities in biodiversity and climate change focal areas
OBJECTIVES(cont’d) • To translate GEF documents into Turkish language. • To set up Turkish web site on GEF • To organize a meeting with participants from all institutions in order to form a national coordination unit for GEF
SUGGESTION • To establish bilateral relations with countries of constituency and other countries in order to exchange information and share experiences concerning GEF
