OVERVIEW • 51 years serving Valley. Established in 1967 • Serves 25,000 K–6 students annually in 260 schools and 30 school districts • $2M retail value of clothing to community • Three signature programs: • New Clothes, New Beginnings distribution • Student Attire for Education (SAFE) • Stitches of Love • 10-member board of directors • 2,500 volunteers • Two FT / Three PT employees Presenting Sponsor
Distribution New Clothes, New Beginnings Annual Distribution Event July 22 – 25, 2019, Grand Canyon University, Lopes Performance Center (moved from GCU Arena for 2019) Impacts over 9,500 students Over 140 schools and 30 districts Delivers self esteem and self confidence through school outfits, uniforms, backpacks, hygiene items, sneakers, and school supplies Title Sponsor
DISTRIBUTION • Title I schools, some exceptions • BTSCD gives school number of students that can attend, school selects students with greatest need that participate in free/reduced lunch program. • Students ages 5-11 or ENTERING K-6. Twelve or older, 5 and younger not eligible. • Consent to photos and videos for BTSCD • Two chaperones per school MAXIMUM, some exceptions based on need. • This is a day for students, NO PARENTS, strictly enforced. Exception for Foster Groups. Title Sponsor

CLOTHING Students receive: Two polo shirts Two shorts One sweatshirt On backpack filled with school supplies & one pair of sneakers Three pairs of socks and three pairs of underwear Hand-made accessories One belt $350!+ Retail value to each student!
Dental Students receive: Dental Screening Fluoride Dental Care Education Referrals to free or low cost dental care clinics/providers Dental permission form signed by parents REQUIRED No exceptions! $100+ Value to each student!
Books Students receive: Two – three books of their choice courtesy of Alpha Delta Kappa – Retired teachers organization
Stem Camp Partnership with AZSTrut Four hour computer tech camp students learn components of a computer and how to build it. Each student takes computer home after camp completion Select 4 – 6th graders

CLOTHING CLOSETS Student Attire For Education (SAFE) school uniform sales Contact: Janette Lopez, janette@btscd.com, 602.256.9408 Provides discounted retail pricing to Title I public elementary schools to help purchase uniforms for clothing closets. Receive a 33% discount and more when you shop in our online retail store. Schools spend on average of $2,000 per order, twice a year to stock their clothing closets. Competitively priced, quality, brand name merchandise all purchased directly on our e-commerce site at www.backtoschoolstore.org. Shopping with a Purpose: All proceeds are invested back into our program to fund additional grants so more schools get matching grants. We support each other through our partnership! Funds can come from a variety of sources including Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Back to School Funds, McKinney-Vento Federal Program Funding, the PTO or PTA, even a bake sale! Important: Schools that purchase uniforms via our SAFE program get priority allotment and scheduled times for the New Clothes, New Beginnings Summer distribution event.
CLOTHING CLOSETS Purchase your school clothing and uniforms from Back to School Clothing Drive – We want ALL Distribution schools to be SAFE schools too! Give feedback –We’re listening! We make upgrades throughout the year to meet your needs, make ordering easier, add user-friendly features, improve customer service, add more products, and customize your online experience. Help with district RFPs –We’re the official uniform provider for several districts and we want to help other districts. Please help us: • Arrange a meeting with your District’s purchasing/ business manager or program coordinator. • Support our efforts to become an approved vendor for your district. Become an official Back to School Ambassador – advocate, inform, network, and provide feedback.
