Library Card - 1 • Library cards are FREE to people who reside, own property, go to school, and/or work in Manatee County. Bring one of the following showing your Manatee County address to the Central Library or any of the branches: • Driver’s License or Florida resident I.D. • Voter registration card • Property deed or tax receipt • Vehicle registration • Lease showing rental of residence • for more than 6 months • Declaration of domicile • Homestead exemption • W-2 form • Current letter on letterhead from employer
Library Card - 2 Non-residents* may get a library card upon payment of a $20.00 annual fee. Anyone making a one-time donation of $100 or more to the Library Foundation will receive a “Lifetime” library card. • Reciprocal borrowing: A free library card can be obtained by showing a valid card from a library in the following counties: Citrus, DeSoto, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Okeechobee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sarasota.

20. NetLibrary Netlibrary eBook Collection is now part of EBSCO. The NetLibrary link will open the EBSCO menu. From there, click on the MasterFILE Premier link and scroll to the bottom of the page. The last link on the page is for eBook Collection. eAudiobooks that were previously available through NetLibrary, are now available with OneClickdigital.
21. New York Times Archives New York Times Archives provides access to over 2 million full text articles from the New York Times. Option for Future Compute SIG
22. OneClickDigital One Click Digital is is a brand new site hosted by Recorded Books. All downloadable audiobooks that were available on the NetLibrary site are now residing here, along with some bonus materials. (Please note, this site is still undergoing "beta" testing.)
23. OverDrive OverDrive is an on-line provider of downloadable e-books and audiovisual content. Currently the Manatee collection only contains e-books. OverDrive books are compatible with most e-readers and most computers plus a wide variety of devices. Content is currently incompatible with Amazon's Kindle, but is expected to be made available for these readers in 2012. Books are downloaded for 1 or 2 weeks. Must install software called Adobe Digital Editions. Due to licensing restrictions, Overdrive is not available for reciprocal borrowers or patrons with "non-resident" library cards. Is an on-line
24. Points of View Reference Center Points of View Reference Center - A pro/con database designed to assist researchers in understanding the full scope of contemporary controversial subjects. High school and undergraduate students can use Points of View as a guide to debate, develop arguments, or write position papers. Essays include a series of questions, links to articles, and additional material to generate further thought.
