Examples are: • Disappearance of late summer Arctic sea ice • Extinction rates for various species • Some consequences may be slower, but have an unseen “tipping point” or threshold • Early warning systems will likely utilize existing land or space-based satellite systems • This article is relevant for: • “What is the timeframe for the predicted consequences of global warming?” • “What steps can be taken to avoid or manage the consequences of global warming?”
