Allah says in the Qur’an وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَانُ لابْنِهِ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُ يَا بُنَيَّ”“ لا تُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌAnd (remember) when Luqmân said to his son when He was advising him: "O My son! join not in Worship others with Allâh. We need to understand: Shirk and Zulm Shirk in simple terms is: Associating partners with Allah Taking ‘gods’ other than Allah Worshipping anyone other than Allah Comparing someone with the Names or the Attributes of Allah ‘Shirk’ is equated with Zulm! Creations have to be given only the respect they deserve. But if you give them a position on par with the Creator….. You are actually insulting the real Creator! The phrase used in the verse of Surah Luqman is لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ means ‘the greatest wrong; the greatest injustice’, the greatest evil!’. • In Arabic the prefix La – the laam of emphasis – is used to give stress and force to the statement. • So, لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ means: • Indeed the greatest wrong! • Verily, the greatest injustice! • Surely, the greatest evil!
